Are the apps killing our emotions?

A conversation I had with a random stranger online inspired me to write this. He hit me with a very direct and unusual offer to which I said I wasn’t interested. Then I came up with a counter offer, he politely declined. We went back and forth a few times. Although I wasn’t interested in his first offer, he had something that attracted me, I was intrigued to say the least. Let me tell you, I don’t get impressed easily and when I do, I don’t want to let it go. I wanted to get to know this guy. Unlike many others who kept delaying the first meeting, he wanted to meet right away, but I wasn’t ready so we agreed on a video call. I said I would only talk for 5 minutes but we ended up talking for about an hour!

You can have everything you want and some more! It is a big fat lie, stop believing in it and more importantly stop feeding it! You don’t get to have all the toys, like it or not life requires compromises. Don’t you see? We are all becoming desensitized. We are more confused than ever, we want everything yesterday and none of us has the patience to wait and slowly build a relationship. Are you hungry? Get a sandwich. Are you horny? Get on the app, swipe right and fuck the next guy or gal. It is simple, until it isn’t. Does anybody remember the good old 3 dates rule? People don’t even want to wait 3 hours anymore! What is happening to us? Isn’t it time to wake up? Satisfaction at the tap of a button only adds to our dissatisfaction. The antidote is slow consumption, we can slowly heal ourselves and heal society and until then REMEMBER

I Can buy myself flowers

Write my name in the sand

….. Yeah I can love me better than you can….
